Source: Government expects economy to rise 1% in 2023, 2% in 2024

MOSCOW, Apr 13 (PRIME) – Russia's economy will grow by about 1% in 2023 and by 2% in 2024, a source with knowledge of the discussion in the government told PRIME on Thursday.

"There are estimates at about 1% this year and 2% next year in the government. These are current estimates, they are not in the official forecast yet, but there are such expectations in the current estimates," the source said.

The current forecast of the Economic Development Ministry says the gross domestic product (GDP) will decrease by 0.8% in 2023, but Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said in March that the ministry forecast higher GDP and investment in 2023. The next official forecast will be published in April.
